Why This Trip
2020 marked my third year of traveling with my little one, and I realized something crucial: as kids grow, so does the way we need to plan family trips. My toddler was getting bored on our usual outings, even asking to go back to kindergarten because 'there are more friends there.' So I arranged a playdate with my friend's child, and we headed to the Tianjin Eden Park Aurora Ice & Snow World for a weekend of snow-filled fun. The result? My son screamed 'Mommy, I love you! I love playing in the snow so much!'—worth every minute of the drive.
Getting There
Tianjin Eden Park (天津伊甸园) is located in Yuzhou District, about a 1.5-hour drive from Beijing. Simply set your navigation to 伊甸园生态教育国际生活示范区 and you'll find it easily. The park offers ample free parking, which is a huge plus for families driving up from Beijing or nearby areas.
Tianjin Eden Park is a meticulously designed eco-education international living demonstration zone. The entire complex feels like a dream community built with significant investment—part residential, part educational, and entirely charming.
Aurora Ice & Snow World
The Aurora Ice & Snow World (伊甸园极光冰雪世界) is located within the Eden Park ecological demonstration zone—it's a fully outdoor winter carnival experience. The snow park features a professional children's skiing area designed specifically for beginners, plus a relaxed snow play zone with over 15 different fun and innovative snow activities. For older kids interested in skiing, the resort partners with the UK's BASI Ski School, bringing in certified instructors for professional lessons. The entire snow surface covers over 50,000 square meters—truly a massive winter wonderland!
Foreigner tip: Most facilities accept mobile payment (WeChat Pay, Alipay), but it's always smart to carry 100-200 RMB cash for snack vendors and emergency purchases.
Snow Play Zone: Kids' Paradise
As soon as the kids saw the snow world, they couldn't wait to run in. Since my preschooler had no skiing experience, the snow play zone was perfect for him. At first, Pangpang (my son) was a bit timid—even tiny slopes intimidated him. But when he saw other kids grabbing sleds, his excitement took over! Within minutes, every child had their own mini sled and was sliding down repeatedly with squeals of joy. The initial nervousness transformed into pure belly-laughs faster than I could keep track. And this was just the beginning—there were so many more activities waiting!
Tube Slopes and More
The terrain tube slides were an instant hit with everyone—from the tallest slide, kids and parents alike experienced the thrill of speeding down snowy slopes. There's truly something for everyone here, and the all-inclusive ticket means you don't need to keep reaching for your wallet. Pro hack: Snowmobile rides are the only activity with an additional fee; everything else (terrain tubes, forest snow tubes, snow climbing, snow bowling, snow soccer, snow swings, ice waterfalls, snow forts, snow tanks, and snow trains) are all included!
Walking toward the tent area, you'll find snack stalls—perfect for grabbing a candied hawthorn (冰糖葫芦) to add some sweet warmth to your winter day!
There are snow swings where kids can spin around on snow tubes—absolutely hilarious! My son pointed at the tents and asked, 'Mommy, is this the tent you stayed in before without me?' I was shocked he remembered that trip from a year ago. All I could do was promise him we'd come back in spring and stay together!
Penguin & Seal Encounters
One of the biggest highlights of the snow play zone—beyond all the exciting activities—is the interactive polar penguin experience and the adorable seal show! The penguins are professionally cared for by staff, with feeding and flash photography strictly prohibited. Kids were absolutely mesmerized, hardly wanting to leave. My son even asked if he could buy a penguin home! Sorry buddy, penguins are definitely not in our budget—but I promised we'd come back next week to visit them again! Pro tip: The Eden Park Children's Science Library (伊甸园儿童科普图书馆) sells penguin-themed souvenirs, so kids can learn about these amazing animals while picking up a cute keepsake!
There are plenty of adorable photo-op decorations scattered throughout the snow area. Those cute snowman displays are every little girl's dream! Plus, there are warm sunflower windmills—perfect for capturing the cutest winter family photos!
Skiing Zone
The other major attraction at Eden Park's Aurora Ice & Snow World is the skiing zone—a dedicated children's skiing teaching slope! They partner with the UK's BASI Ski School, specifically designed for children ages 6-12 who are absolute beginners. The professional terrain teaching methods and fun, practical teaching tools help kids master basic skiing skills through play. Foreigner tip: They also offer ski winter camps! Participants who pass the assessment receive certification from the UK BASI Ski School—a great credential for young learners!

If I had my own Eden Box, I'd definitely install swings and slides, plus a huge ball pit—bringing fairy tales into the room and letting that innermost childlike self rediscover the joy of childhood!
This place holds countless sparkling beauties: a children's science library, a fresh and trendy Tree Coffee, and the spiritual landmark Mine Pit Club. All the supporting facilities are not only fully functional but have also become unique landmarks here, drawing people to come and enjoy a carefree life.
