Day 1: Arrival at Interlaken Town
Shenzhen has surprises even for repeat visitors—and the Interlaken Town (茵特拉根小镇) completely blew me away. This place literally transported European charm right into southern China. Named after the Swiss Alpine town of Interlaken, the architecture perfectly recreates a Swiss pastoral style—romantic, elegant, and completely Instagram-worthy without leaving the country.
The Interlaken Hotel (茵特拉根酒店) sits right next to the town, and honestly, it's hard to tell where the scenery ends and the hotel begins. Are the views so stunning they elevate the hotel, or does the hotel open the door to these beautiful vistas? Either way, it's a match made in heaven.
Waking up early and stepping onto the hotel balcony, I was greeted by blue skies and white clouds reflected in the lake—watching the European-style town across the water, for a moment I questioned whether this was real or just a beautiful dream. The gentle elegance feels like a sophisticated lady in her finest, quietly Radiant.
Pretending We're in Europe
One second teleport to Europe—vacation mode activated at Interlaken Town. Watching the green mountains and clear waters, so relaxing. We brought our parents from Guangzhou, caught a ride-sharing trip, and arrived at the hotel in about 2 hours.
Entering the lobby, we were welcomed by cheerful bird songs. Everywhere you look are flower-themed designs—comfortable and inviting. Under the clear sky, this place feels like a hidden paradise. Fresh air, and the Interlaken Hotel is right next to the Tea Valley (茶溪谷) scenic area. The spacious rooms with their large balconies facing the beautiful, peaceful lake view—waking up to birds chirping is pure bliss.
This is a Swiss-themed hotel. The bird-and-flower environment creates a natural, harmonious ecological atmosphere that makes you feel at one with nature.
The area recreates thick Nordic-Swiss vibes. You can feel貴妃般的静谧時光—the tranquil time of a noble lady. Before COVID, there was a huge flower field open for viewing. While it's temporarily closed now, it doesn't stop us from exploring more of Window of the World (东部华侨城).
The town looks particularly beautiful in morning and evening. Gentle sunlight bathes the town, black swans glide across the water—dreamy and surreal.
Room Comfort
The rooms are spacious and bright. The comfortable bedding helped my whole family relax and unwind.
Interlaken Café
Located by the beautiful Interlaken Lake, this café offers all-day dining. Sitting here feels like taking a break on a European street. The open kitchen serves a wide variety of classic dishes.
Starting your morning with breakfast by this beautiful riverside—how refreshing and delightful!
Pigeons fly around, black swans play happily in the water. Kids by the lake watch koi fish, and the swans seem to hear their cheers, flapping wings to come closer. A beautiful scene of human-animal harmony.
Having breakfast or dinner here is such comfort and joy.
Day 2: Tea Valley Mini Train
Passing through the forest, I hear leaves rustling in the wind. Crossing rivers and seas, I see fish jumping among flowers. May time stop right here—sunshine and blue sky accompany us all the way.
Don't waste this beautiful season. Using time's hand to warm a bunch of flowers, using a piece of clear sky to embrace sunlight and drive away the pandemic.
My favorite is riding the mini train, enjoying the lake and mountain scenery while it circles around the entire Window of the World (东部华侨城) hotel area. It's like being in Europe—the 40-minute aerial journey is so peaceful and relaxing. That's why my family says the value here is amazing.
Still frustrated you can't travel abroad this year? Still sad you can't feel the sunshine, blue sky, and summer due to the pandemic?
Despite this special year, we can still pursue happiness and discover charming places. Give yourself a break from heavy chores and various pressures. Window of the东部华侨城) seems to fulfill all your wishes.
Exploring the Resort
One second to teleport through the valley and shake off the blues. Like a charming European town, Shenzhen hides such a beautiful place.
Window of the World (东部华侨城) consists of the Grand Canyon (大峡谷) and Tea Valley (茶溪谷). Here you can: ride popular roller coasters, check in at European-style towns, visit the solemn Daxing Temple (大华兴寺), play water golf, and gaze at the seaview from Dameisha Beach (大梅沙) in the distance.
Tea Valley ticket: 180 RMB (~$25). Travel platforms offer discounts—recommend buying online.
Recommended Route: Grand Canyon → Hollywood Town → Rapids → Rescue → Apex → Wetland Garden → Tea Valley Entrance → Four Seasons Flower Field → Interlaken Town → Grand Theater → Tea翁古镇 → Three Continent Tea → Daxing Temple
Pro tip: Plan for two days, starting from Tea Valley to Grand Canyon.
The Observation Tower offers views of the entire Window of the World resort.
Walking on the plank road, just seeking that refreshing, uplifting feeling.
Grand Canyon Adventures
On the way to Grand Canyon, you can take a cable car and enjoy the entire valley scenery along the way.
The Grand Canyon has various thrilling rides. Rapids (激流勇进), Forest Shuttle, and Wooden Roller Coaster are the highlights. If you're brave enough, you MUST try it! Speeding between valleys and slopes, sometimes hidden in the forest, sometimes floating above clouds—super interesting.
Mini Zoo
In the mini zoo, you can see cute raccoons (干脆面君)—their憨态可掬的样子 (charming, adorable appearance) is absolutely lovable. There are flamingos, squirrel monkeys, and bird performances—truly spectacular.
Hot Springs in Summer
The 20,000 square meters of mountain-lake green oxygen bar and 20+ hot springs meet different needs. Forget your troubles and return to nature's embrace. At the outdoor pool, you can enjoy a spectacular steel flower show performance while soaking.
